Lakudkar wins rapid chess crown

Shubham Lakudkar claimed the title in Sachin Salunkhe Memorial Open Rapid Chess Tournament organised by Dadasaheb Kannamwar Sport Academy at Dadasaheb Kannamwar Hall, Annasaheb Gundewar College, Katol Road.

Lakudkar earned highest eight points to win the crown. He was followed by Roneet Das and Shivasubramanian for second and third place respectively Himanshu Jethwani finished fourth whereas Pujjam Bansod achieved fifth place.

The prizes were distributed by hands of Ramkrishna Salunkhe, Head of Department of Physical Education and Sports, Annasaheb Gundewar College, Bablu Shrigiriwar, Sanjay Dhote, Chief Arbiter Swapnil Bansod, Swati Kumbhalkar and others.

Prashant Salunke, Nitin Navghare, Asha Wankhede Dapurkar, Nitin Jaurkar, Amit Meshram, Yogesh Naik, Sanjay Dhote, Harshal Waghmare, Adv. Pankaj Thakre and others worked hard for the success of tournament. Tournament Director, Pravin Pantawane proposed a vote of thanks.

Final standings: 1. Shubham Lakudkar (8), 2. Roneet Das (7.5, 53), 3. Shivasubramanian R (7.5, 49), 4. Himanshu Jethwani (7, 52.5), 5. Pujjam Bansod (7, 50.5), 6. Machave Prathamesh (7, 47.5), 7. Wanjari Krupal (7, 47), 8. Sawalakhe Jay (7, 46.5), 9.Deshpande Suhan (6.5, 48), 10. Srivastava VK (6, 49.5).
