L.A.D. College organised Annual Sports Prize Distribution

The Annual Prize Distribution Function of Department of Physical Education and Sports was held recently, at 11.00 am in Niyogi Hall Shankar Nagar College Campus, Nagpur. All the Special Achievers, and Coaches were felicitated for their outstanding performance and participants of various games, were honored at the hands of the Chief Guest Vijay Barse, Founder of Slum Soccer, Nagpur.  Principal Dr. Deepali Kotwal and the guests addressed the august gathering with their inspiring and encouraging thoughts.

L.A.D. College has a wonderful record in games and sports, this year also college won the title in Chess and got Runner’s up position in Intercollegiate Basketball in the Inter collegiate Tournaments organised by RTMNU, Nagpur. 15 Special Achievers Vaishnav Bhale, , Mugdha Agrey  (Badminton), R. Nagalaxmi (Chess),  Shital Warkhade, Rutika Vyas and Sakshi Chaudhari (Karate) participated in the Inter National Competitions. Nupur Kohale represented Vidarbha and Central Zone in U-23 and Senior BCCI Tournament and Latika Inamdar of the college represented Vidarbha in U- 19  T20, One Day  and India Blues in U-19 T20 Challengers Cup Cricket Competition organized by BCCI, Rasika Pande, Bhagyashree Kolwadkar and Purvi Mahalle in (Basketball)  Tanuja Dhurve and Poonam Dhakne in (Karate), Listirong Chorkhy (Kho Kho) Samiksha Narsingkar in (Riffle Shooting) Participated in the National level Competitions.

Rajan Pillay (Karate Coach), Pramod Selokar (Kabaddi Coach) Arvind Garud (Basketball Coach) were also Felicitated for their services towards the institution.

In all more than 160 students of our senior and junior college participated in the Inter Collegiate and Interschool and open tournaments  in following games, Basketball, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Cross Country, Athletics, Badminton, Chess, Cricket, Gymnastics, Archery, Boxing ,Wrestling Riffle Shooting, Judo, Karate .

Director, Women’s Education Society Dr. Shymala Nair, Principal Dr. Deepali Kotwal, Vice Principal’s  R. Yelkawar, K.Dhawad  and. S.Changde , Supervisors and all the staff congratulated the Special Achievers, teams, participants and Department of Physical Education and Sports for their tremendous efforts and achievements.

Dr. D. Titarmare, Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports gave brief report of Sports Activities conducted in the session 2018-19. Dr. Sadhana Deshmukh compered the programme and proposed the formal vote of thanks. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
