“Until all of the pieces fit in” – Autism is a developmental disorder of variable severity characterized by difficulty in social interaction and communication and by repetitive or restricted patterns of thought and behavior seen commonly among children.
Research indicates early intervention leads to positive outcome. So the diagnosis of this condition among children having difficulty in social communication either school of home environment is the need of the hour.
The department of anatomy, AIIMS Nagpur desirous to be a part of this world wide awareness campaign is organizing World autism awareness day, at API Hall B, from 11 am to 1 pm
As a part of this event,
- Expert resource person from autistic clinic of Government medical college, Nagpur will be explaining about various facets of autism in a panel
- The teacher from our collaborating school will be introduced to the Indian tool for diagnosing Autism among school children by a faculty of AIIMS, Nagpur.
- A poster competition for medical students.
- As a part of awareness campaign the students and faculties of AIIMS, Nagpur will be in blue attire on April 2nd– “Light it up with blue”
Primary school teachers from other schools of Nagpur are also welcomed for program.
