Bengal, Himachal enter women cricket semis
Bengal and Himachal Pradesh entered the semis in Under-23 women cricket one-day league on Tuesday.
At Civil Lines stadium Bengal defeated Uttarakhand by seven wickets. Uttarakhand opted to  bat first ended all out for 102 in 48.5 overs. Only Radha Chand (19), Megha Saini (16), Ankita Dhami and Kanchan Parihar ( 14 each) showed some resistance.
For Bengal, Deepti ( 4 for 17) was the main wicket taker. She was well supported by Shreya ( 3 for 19).
In reply Bengal achieved the target losing just three wickets in 22.5 overs.
Opener Deepti (40) and skipper Tanushree Sarkar ( 40) ensured the big win.
In another quarterfinals at Kalamna ground, Himachal recorded four wicket victory over Baroda.
Batting first Baroda knocked off 222 foe 8 in 50 overs. YH Bhatia played a brilliant knock of 82. Hrutu Patel (68) too scored half century .
For Himachal Renuka Singh claimed three wickets for 32 runs while Sushmita Kumari got two for 39.
In reply Himachal chased the target losing six wickets in 48.1 overs. Thanks to Tanuja Kanwar who played a match winning knock of 64. Chitra Singh (44), Sushmita Kumari ( 33) and SM Singh ( 28) too batted well and led Himachal towards victory.
For Baroda Radha Yadav captured three wickets for 49 runs.
