City fencer Sayali Uikey bagged bronze medal in Under-19 National Fencing Championship held at Amritsar recently.
In all 23 teams from all over the country participated in the meet in which three fencers from Nagpur were selected.
While representing Maharashtra Sayali bagged bronze in Epee event. However other city fencers Harshada Damkondwar and Vigyani Umathe had to be satisfied on seventh position.
DSO Avinash Pund, sport officer Asha Meshram honoured her by presenting bouquet. Sayali attributes the credit of her success to the coach Ankit Gajbhiye, secretary of Nagpur District Fencing Association Mohammad Shoaib and President Ajay Sontakke.
