Mankapur police have booked an 18-year-old teenager and three of his accomplices for allegedly creating a fake Instagram profile of a minor girl and posting objectionable pictures of the victim between October 2018 and May this year.
Cops have booked accused Kasif Khan, a resident of Avasthi Nagar and his three friends in this connection.
As per the sources, the accused had created fake profile of a 15-year-old girl back in 2018 and were trying to defame the victim by posting her objectionable content. The matter came to fore this year when the survivor noticed her fake profile following which she approached Mankapur police.
Youth molests neighbour woman in Sadar
Sadar police have rounded up a 22-year-old youth for allegedly molesting his 32-year-old nighbour woman on Saturday afternoon.
As per the sources, the survivor was alone at her home on Saturday afternoon when accused approached her. The accused reportedly tried to grab her from behind and behaved objectionable with the victim. However, when the woman raised an alarm, accused reportedly fled from the spot.
Cops have booked accused Akash Parshettiwar in this connection.
Car knocks man dead on Kamptee road
A recklessly driven four wheeler claimed a life of a 46-year-old man on Kamptee-Nagpur highway on Saturday night.
Deceased has been identified as Gopal Devman Dorle, a resident of Khairi on Kamptee road.
As per the sources, Gopal on his moped (MH/40/AF/1861) was driving home when a rashly driven Scorpio car (MH/40/AC/4545) dashed him from behind. The impact was so severe that Gopal fell off the road and died on the spot.
Cops have booked accused driver under relevant sections of IPC and started the probe.
Minor molested in MIDC, one booked
A 16-year-old girl was allegedly molested by her 45-year-old neighbor when the survivor was sleeping at her terrace on May 24. The accused had threatened of dire consequences to the survivor following which she kept mum for all those time.
As per the sources, the survivor was sleeping at her terrace on May 24 when the accused approached her in the midnight. The accused reportedly molested the survivor and threatened her with dire consequences if she discloses anything about the incident.
Though the survivor kept her mouth mum for quite some time, she revealed the incident to her mother on Friday, following which the duo rushed to MIDC police station.
MIDC police have booked accused identified as Kamlakar Meshram, a neighbor of the survivor.
Woman booked for forcing two girls into prostitution
Nandanvan police have booked a 35-year-old woman for abetting two girls into prostitution. It is learnt that the accused woman had reportedly sold two girls for Rs 1.70 lakh with the help of her male accomplice.
According to police sources, a 19-year-old boy had filed a case against the woman. The boy has alleged that his 21-year-old sister had left housr on May 19 on the pretext of going to her friend’s house but never returned since then. However, on May 28 the complainant received information that he’s sister along with her friend was forced into prostitution. Following which he approached Nandanvan police.
Accused identified as Madhuri Umredkar has been booked under relevant section of the IPC in this connection.
Man assaults policemen in Hingna, arrested
Hingna police on Friday arrested the owner of a liquor shop for allegedly thrashing policemen.
The accused, Anand Vijay Jaiswal (42) is a resident of Dongargaon, near Durga Mata Mandir. He has been booked under section 353, 332, 186 and 504 of the IPC.
According to the sources, at around 9.30 am, Rajesh Kashinath Sonarkar (52) was found dead in front of Jaiswal’s country liquor shop. PSI Vikas Narwade and his team were completing the necessary legal formalities when Jaiswal came and asked the policemen to remove the body immediately. Jaiswal then launched attack on PSI Narwade and abused the other policemen.
Shanti Nagar police arrests history sheeter Ajju Yadav
Shanti Nagar police arrested a notorious criminal Ajay alias Ajju Shivdayal Yadav and detected eight house-breaking thefts, besides recovering stolen cash and valuables collectively worth Rs 3.64 lakh from his possession.
The accused, Yadav (34) is a native of Rani Durgawati Ward, Ganj Mohalla, City Kotwali, district Seoni (Madhya Pradesh).
According to the sources, Yadav is a history sheeter and a total 36 cases of serious crimes, including rape, gambling and house-breaking thefts, have been registered against him in Seoni district.
Several cases of house-breaking thefts are registered against him at Shanti Nagar, Lakadganj, Kotwali and Ganeshpeth police stations.
Yadav had stolen Rs 1,78,100 cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 45,000 from the house of Dr Rajesh Laxmichhandra Jain at Telipura, Pewtha. He had burgled the cash and gold ornaments when Dr Jain had gone to Jabalpur (MP) to attend his niece’s engagement ceremony.
