Reserve Bank of India (RBI) ‘D’ set up a title clash with Bank of India (BOI) in the team championship event of Inter-Bank Carrom Tournament organised by Bankers’ Sports Council on Sunday.
In the first semi-final, RBI ‘D’ got the better of BOM 2-0. Anil Rambhad downed Kunal Morkar 25-0, 25-6 and in the second game, Abdul Sagir got rid of Vishal Mahajan 25-10, 25-4. In the second semi-final, BOI pipped RBI 2-1. Raju Katare gave winning start to BOI defeating Harish Hedaoo 25-0, 25-15.
However, in the next game, Yogesh Samudre lost to Ajay Asai 6-20, 13-25. In the decider, Katare-Samudre duo defeated Hedaoo-Asai 25-6, 20-0.
Meanwhile, in the men’s singles event, AB Roka (SBI), Raju Katare (BOI), Anil Rambhad (RBI) and Abdul Sagir (RBI) entered the semis. On Mondy men’s singles semis, final and team championship final will be played from 6 pm onwards.
