Ritika-Simran enter quarters

Ritika Thaker and her partner Simran Singhi entered the quarterfinals in All India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament at Hyderabad on Friday.

Playing the pre-quarters against Sriveda Gurazada and Sai Shriya Yanamandra , the Nagpur Mumbai pair of Ritika and Simran played  a near perfect game with their smashes and netplay which kept their opponents guessing throughout the match. Ritika and Simran won 21-9, 21-11 in 27 mins to reach the quarter finals where they are against Kavipriya S and Thanushree.

Another good news came for the city lass Ritika that she was selected for the Junior Badminton Championships 2019 to be held in China in July, she has been selected in girls doubles and mixed doubles in the Indian Team. It may be mentioned that is the 5th occasion where Ritika will be representing India at the Asian Badminton Championships. Her first selection was when she was 13th years old.

Ritika a student of Hislop college, trains under Robin Simon and Ajay Dayal.
