Ruby Sporting Club and Nagpur Cricket Academy (NCA) ‘B’ recorded the victories over their rivals in group ‘B’ matches in Inter-Academy Under-23 Cricket Tournament organised by Reshimbagh Cricket Club on Sunday.
Left arm spinner Ashit Singh’s five wicket haul helped Ruby to beat SB City by 21 runs. Batting first Ruby scored 126 all out in 23.5 overs. Santosh Raut top scored with 33. Radhakant Goswami (26). Ishant Rizvi (12), Ashit Singh (15) and Manthan Parate (10) were other scorers.
For SB City Tarique Hazi and Sagar Maloka claimed four wickets each giving away 23 and 27 runs respectively. In reply SB City were all out for 105 in 23 overs. Thanks to left arm spinner Ashit Singh who claimed five wicket haul conceding just 11 runs. Ishan Rizvi also bowled well and captured two. Ashit Singh was declared man-of-the-match for his five wickets haul.
In another match, NCA ‘B’ shocked host Reshimbagh Cricket Club (RCC) b 20 runs. Batting first NCA ‘B’ scored 133 runs in 24.5 overs with Jatin Pimplikar scored highest 24. Rugved Jaiswal (28) and Alok Wadkar (20) were other scores. For RCC, Gaurav Chirde snared four wickets conceding 29 runs while Karan Piplikar claimed three wickets for 23 runs.
In reply, RCC were all out for 113 runs in 20.2 overs. Chirde played an unbeaten knock of 29 but in vain. Akash Shahakar and Avinash Sen contributed 17 each. For NCA ‘B’ Nimesh Jambhulkar (4 for 10) was the main wicket taker. Jatin Pimplikar was declared man-of-the-match.
