Project Review and Analysis Group for Adapting Technology in Industries (PRAGATI) is a novel joint initiative of Vigyan Bharati (VIBHA) and Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA) which has facilitated the Engineering students to successfully complete some real, live industry based dissertation works as a part of their Under Graduate projects. The initiative was formally launched on December 2, 2017 in the presence of AICTE Chairman Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe in a program held in Ramdeobaba Kamala Nehru College of Engineering.

With the view that projects undertaken by students should have real and meaningful application in actual industrial working, which unfortunately is rare in most of the projects in spite of thousands of students graduating year after year, it was decided that Academia and Vidarbha Industries Association should join hands in designing projects based on real issues and problems in small scale industries which neither have nor can afford to spend on Research and Development activities to resolve their problems and issues. Vigyan Bharati has volunteered to act as a bridge between colleges and industries by providing mentors as well and periodical monitoring.

It was a humble beginning of this plan in 2018-19 with a few colleges of Nagpur participating and completing seven projects in various branches of Engineering. The colleges which completed projects under PRAGATI were Govt. College of Engineering, Cummins College of Engineering for Women, Suryoday College and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar college of Engineering and the industries where they were undertaken were Aakar Industries, Geotech Industries and Allied Mining. The successful projects were showcased in a program held in VIA on Saturday. Ex President of VIA Atul Pande, Vice President Dr. Suhas Budhe, VIBHA patrons Dr. Satish Wate (Ex Director NEERI) and Mr. G. P. Kundargi (Ex CMD MOIL) were on the dais and distributed certificates to students, faculties as well as participating industries. A large gathering of Engineering academia comprising Principals, teachers and students were present on the occasion. Representatives of industries under VIA were also present.

All the speakers lauded PRAGATI as a much needed forum for Industry Institute Interaction wherein Vigyan Bharati is playing a crucial role and doing a commendable service, they said. More colleges expressed willingness to avail the benefits of PRAGATI in current and future academic sessions.

Vigyan Bharati has assured to facilitate and strengthen the interaction through its large networking in all the colleges and industries of Vidarbha. Proceedings of the program were conducted by Mr. Sagar Mitkari, PRAGATI background was explained by Dr. Sunil Bhat while its roadmap ahead was presented by Mr Narendra Satfale. VIBHA secretary Dr. Sanjay Wate proposed vote of thanks.

Rohit Ganorkar, Rajesh Karmore, Aashish Jain, Girish Joshi, Dewashish Joshi – all from VIBHA made special efforts for the success of the program.
