Ophthalmological Society Nagpur holds AIOS-ARC symposium on Cataract and Glaucoma

Ophthalmogical Society Nagpur had the proud privilege of holding the prestigious Academic and Research Committee of All India Ophthalmological Society’s Symposium on Cataract and Glaucoma for the eye Specialists of the region on Sunday July 28, 2019 at Hotel Centre Point Nagpur.

The program was held under the aegis of Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society & Vidarbha Ophthalmic Society. Dr Viral Shah -President of OSN and Dr Rahul Tiwari- Secretary of OSN were the course coordinators for this AIOS-ARC Symposium.

Eminent Ophthalmologists Dr Himanshu Mehta (Mumbai), Dr Sudarshan Khokhar (New Delhi) and Dr Suvira Jain (Mumbai) were present as Guest national faculties and guided those present about the recent trends in management of Cataract and Glaucoma.

Dr Partha Biswas- Chairman of AIOS-ARC committee was specially present from Kolkatta for the event and he also conducted a unique session ‘The ball is now in your court ‘ where two teams of ophthalmologists put together their brains on how to approach some difficult cases having management dilemmas.

Dr Prashant Bawankule-Member (west zone) of AIOS-ARC committee was the zonal coordinator for the symposium. President of MOS Dr Gopal Arora, Hon Secretary MOS Dr Anand Pangarkar, Treasurer MOS Dr Rafat Khan, President of VOS Dr Rajesh Joshi were present as guests of honour.

More than 200 ophthalmologists from in and around Nagpur enjoyed this Academic feast and updated their knowledge. Prominently present were Dr Shriram Karandikar, Dr Prashant Agnihotri, Dr Sulbha Deshpande, Dr Umesh Rewanwar (Pusad), Dr Seema Deshmukh, Dr Mala Kamble, Dr Kavita Dhabarde, Dr Rahul Dagwar, Dr Saurabh Mundhada,Dr Sameer Gade and Dr Sunil Mulchandani as chairpersons for various sessions.

 

Dr Vinay Nangia, Dr Shubhangi Bhave, Dr Rekha Khandelwal, Dr Anant Gade, Dr Pallavi Alsi , Dr Shilpi Narnaware, Dr Ashutosh Jaiswal , Dr Priyanka Amle and Dr Shilpa Tiwari were the illustrious local faculties and enlightened on various aspects of Cataract and Glaucoma.

Team of OSN led by President Dr Viral Shah, Secretary Dr Rahul Tiwari, Treasurer Dr Neha Deshpande and comprising of Dr Shashank Bidaye, Dr Mohana Majumdar,Dr Varsha Rahatekar,Dr Shamik Mokadam, Dr Ashish Sapkal, Dr Rohini Juneja, Dr Poonam Harkut, Dr Smita Karandikar, Dr Prateek Vishwakarma, Dr Sarang Lambat, Dr Archana Swarnakar, Dr Sarang Lambat, Dr Neelu Mundhada put in tremendous efforts for making this maiden AIOS symposium to be held in Nagpur a grand success.
