Ambazari Biodiversity Park now open

Ambazari Biodiversity Park

After a long wait the Ambazari Biodiversity Park was finally inaugurated. The inauguration function was held in Ambazari near NMC hot mix plant at Wadi-Hingna road Nagpur. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the park whereas Union Minister Nitin Gadkari presided over the function.

While interacting with the media, CM Fadnavis, informed that the Park has 160 different species of bird and is stretched in 1800 acres of land. In the near future Ambazari will be known as open forest as it is rich in Biodiversity.

He said, “The younger generation is proving to be forward in understanding importance of environment conservation”. Fadnavis also appreciated the efforts made by the authorities for preserving the Ambazari Biodiversity.

Gadkari said that Ambazari Biodiversity Park is pride of Nagpur. He expressed his confidence that the target of planting 33 crore saplings would be fulfilled. This Park will not only be an urban but will also act as an open classroom for the students and youth of the city.

Indian Safari Gorewada zoo project, one of international standard also rich in biodiversity, will be inaugurated in the first week of September. Located near Nagpur city, Ambazari and Gorewada would prove attractive, educative and enjoyable spots for youths, tourists and citizens.

Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Incharge Minister for Nagpur district, Sudhir Mungantiwar, Minister of State for Forest, Dr Parinay Fuke, Minister of State for Forest, Sudhakar Deshmukh, Sameer Meghe, Mallikarjun Reddy, all MLAs, Nanda Jichkar, Mayor, Parinita Fuke, Corporator, Vikas Kharage, Principal Secretary, Forest, UK Agrawal, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Head of Forest Force), Sanjeev Kumar, Divisional Commissioner, Ashwin Mudgal, District Collector, and S G Tembhurnikar, Addl PCC F, were the guests of honour at the occasion.

According to reports, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed in between National Highway Authority of India and Forest Department for tree plantation along with highways.
