Anti sexual harassment cell of Dharampeth M.P.Deo memorial science College Nagpur organised a guest lecture on the topic ”sexual harassment: it’s prevention and legal awareness†on August 30, 2019.
The guest speaker was Dr. Swati Dharmadhikari , Associate Prof.at Tirpude college of Social work Nagpur. She Spoke on POSH (prevention of sexual Harassment) in general and gave information on IPC act 354 and 503.
She also threw light on role of ICC ie. Internal complaint committee and it’s function. She urged the students to remain alert and fight against the crime .She also sighted examples of Aruna Shanbagh and Bhairon Devi of Rajasthan who were the victims of sexual abuse and how they fought for their rights.
Being a member of Bharosa cell of police department how she is helping society through her social work.
On the occasion Convener of the anti sexual harassment committee Prof. Manju Deshpande introduced the chief guest to the audience Dr. Archana Kulkarni, Vice Principal and Head of Microbiology dept. gave introductory Speech and highlighted the importance of this committee.
The program was largely attended by students. Present on the occasion were Dr. Kathoke, Dr. Ubale, Dr. Lanjewar, Prof. Kulat , Mrs. Kapare and other staff members.
Principal of the college Dr. Akhilesh Peshwe and President of Dharampeth education society Advocate Ulhas Aurangabadkar gave their best wishes to the organisers of the event.
