Tigress kills three in Sawali Wagh

Tigress kills three in Sawali Wagh

Recently, it has been reported that a tigress which has created havoc in Karanja Ghadge tehsil is moving towards human settlement has killed one sloth bear and latest one a cow and calf. This incident happened at compartment no.191 of Umri Bear in Sawali Wagh area.

After getting information that a cow was killed by the tigress, the forest department officials had went to conduct panchnama of the carcass found of cow and sloth bear. There were pug marks of tigress on the spot. According to the forest department officials, tigress is accompanied by cubs and tigress might have killed the cow first and then clashed with sloth bear. The age of deceased sloth bear is around 3 years. The post- mortem of sloth bear was performed on Monday morning and carcass was buried on the spot.

Range forest officer of Karanja Ghadge RB Gainer said that tigress might have attacked sloth bear as she was carrying cubs.
