Ajni RoB being jam packed

Traffic congestion has taken a new turn at the Railway over Bridge (RoB) of Ajni railway station after Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) had fixed iron poles on both the ends of the RoB.As the bridge has got older and is very weak to sustain through heavy traffic and accept heavy vehicles like trucks and tractors. These same poles have become a reason of a heavy and slow traffic at the bridge.

During the evening time and even the rush hours this route has witnessing a slow movement of traffic as the signal at the end of this route while going towards Medical Square, block a continuous movement of vehicle. This signal is the main reason of causing a jam. As per NMC source, the bridge can no longer be used for movement of heavy vehicles and still people are stuck on this bridge due to the jam. This can cause a major accident as the bridge is weak enough to be broken at any time. The Ajni Bridge was built almost 100 years ago and urgently need a renovation.

The poles can easily be passed by the four wheelers which cause a denser traffic situation. These vehicles are slow moving rides and even block the two wheelers from moving ahead and cause traffic jam on the bridge.
