The recent medical conferences in city in its complete sense have accelerated the hotel businesses in city. This is not the peak period and the hotels in city is witnessing a slow down. However, the conferences organised by several medical associations made the hotels earn good money.
As per the reports, the Nagpur had a huge get-together of doctors in 49th annual national conference of Endocrine Society of India ‘ESICON-2019″ hosted by Maha Endocrine Society, Maharashtra at Hotel LeMeredien, Khapri.And this witnessed a huge crowd to the tune of 1,500 to 1,700 doctors and others related to the conference.
As per information, a company based in Delhi has done the advance booking of rooms in hotels almost 50% of the original charge. Once this company becomes aware of the conference, it books the rooms in hotels in that city in advance in almost 50% of the original charge. For example, the tariff of a room in a hotel is Rs 10,000; this company negotiates and books 50 rooms for example in Rs 5,000 per room. This company offers organisers of conference, the same room in Rs 25,000. The organisers have no choice than to take the offer.The hotels like Hotel Pride, Hotel Centre Point, Empress Inn, Tuli Imperial, Tuli International, OrientTaibah, Hotel Ashok, Hotel Hardeo, Hotel Radisson Blu, Hotel Airport Centre Point were full of participants who had come to be a part of ‘ESICON – 2019’. There was another conference whose form is smaller than that of ESICON 2019. But this conference too witnessed several doctors from Vidarbha and from outside the country like Dubai.VAPCON 2019, the annual conference of Vidarbha Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (VAPM) was held at Hotel Centre Point. This conference too brought several visitors to Nagpur.
