The FM channels are really an integral part of entertainment industry and it has got lot many listeners also. However the recent maintenance works going on in TV tower has created unavoidable inconvenience for the listeners as the FM channels could not air the programme as per the scheduled time as the said work likely to continue for 2 weeks.
And it is for the first time, the Akashvani Nagpur is not in position to air the programme on time. As per information, the inconvenience is due to maintenance work started at Seminary Hills based TV tower from Monday. A heavy weight antenna for digital transmission will also be installed. It is not for the first time, maintenance work is going on in the TV tower but earlier it was on the night. At present they will have to work as per the prescribed temperature of the equipment. And there is possibility of accident while working in night on that very height in the cold condition of the Seminary Hills. Hence the shutdown is taken from 12 pm to 6 pm.
The FM channels are really worried as these channels didn’t get prior information regarding this. Also they are in trouble as they cannot air the commercial programme for six hours daily and they are concerned about their financial loss. And the listeners are also not getting the update about this.
And all the frequency modulation transmission based channels are affected by this work.However, the medium wave and App based Mumbai Vivid Bharati programmes are going on uninterrupted.
