Sai bags doubles title, finish second in singles

Talented city tennis player Sai Bhoyar recently won the doubles title whereas finished runners-up in singles in AITA Super Series Under-16 Tennis Tournament held at Ahmedabad Racquet Academy.

In the doubles event pairing with Ishita Jadhav of Pune Sai defeated Mahi-Panchhal-Divya Bharadwann 3-6, 6-4, 1-5 to win the title. In the semi-final, they defeated Amishi Shukla (Madhya Pradesh)-Suryanshi Tanwar (Gujarat) 6-0 6-4.

In the quarter Sai and her partner defeated Rajvi Panchal- Kanchal Chougule 6-1, 6-0.
In the singles final, Sai lost to Divya Bharadwaj of Gujarat 3-6, 6-2, 2-6. Earlier in the semi-final, she defeated Magi Panchal of Gujarat 6-3, 6-2.

In the quarterfinal, Sai recorded 6-3, 6-2 win over Tamil Nadu’s Diya Balan. She got a bye in the first round and in the second Sai made a light work of Gujarat girl Banhi Panchal 6-2, 6-2.

Sai trains under the guidance of coach Navin and Vishal at the NDHTA Tennis Centre, Ramnagar.
