NMC to convert damaged vehicles into mobile toilets, cafeteria for women

Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is now going to convert the damaged vehicles and old buses in the city into mobile toilets for women titled ‘Ti Bus’. This was informed by Mayor Sandip Joshi during a meeting held in NMC’s Central Office with civic body officials recently.This decision came after Mayor interacted with citizens especially women and realized that lack of public washrooms in market places that causes inconvenience to them.Acting on the complaint, Mayor ordered the authorities to utilise the deserted old buses for construction of toilet for women and the same should be deployed in weekly market places. Mayor said, 50 such mobile toilets are planned to be built by modifying the old buses of NMC. The buses would have the facility of the washroom for ladies and in small areas, a cafeteria is also planned to be installed in the design.

Initially, two or three buses would be converted and would soon be deployed at convenient locations in the city. One bus would be deployed at Rahate Colony T-point.
