Department of Chemistry, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur in association with IGNOU Regional Centre, Nagpur is organizing “Salters’ Chemistry Camp” under Sankalp, as a part of Diamond Jubilee Celebration of the institute, from January 3 to 5, 2020. This three days event is sponsored by Royal Society of Chemistry (London), Indian Chapter Bangalore and Salters’ Institute, UK.

The motive behind this camp is to spread awareness about chemical science by providing school students from diverse backgrounds, an opportunity to explore practical chemistry and inspire them to pursue chemical science at higher studies. Around seventy five students (boys and girls) of 9 th standard from Zilla parishad school, Nagpur Municipal Corporation school and schools of nearby districts (Gadchiroli, Wardha, Bhandara, Gardiya and Warora) will participate in Salters’ camp.

This is the second Salter’s Chemistry Camp at Department of Chemistry, VNIT-Nagpur for the students of school level. The previous one was held in December, 2018 to witness grand success and that was the very first event of such type in the city. Dr Suresh S.
