The encroachment drive has been initiated by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) from January 1. Roads and sidewalks are being cleared by implementing the orders of the Municipal Commissioner in every zone.
Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar had issued an order to NMC, for clearing the roads and sidewalks. Following the orders, the team of NMC took serious action on the stalls and shops which were set up on the sidewalk.
Taking cognizance of the increasing complaints of citizen on encroachment at city roads, sidewalks, Mayor Sandeep Joshi had constituted a committee headed by senior councilor Dayashankar Tiwari. Action has been initiated to free the city’s roads and sidewalks to provide relief to the citizens.
During the encroachment drive NMC appealed that citizens should not do any business on the sidewalk and be a responsible citizen.
