Winter is on its peak and with cold and chilly wave also arrived fog which often creates problem for the commuters, railways and flight services. The dense fog cause delay in trains, planes and to tackle with such situation Fog safe Device equipment has been set in trains under the efficient guidance of Divisional Railway Manager, Somesh Kumar.
Fog Safe is a device that works on the basis of GPS (Global Positioning System).
It is given in all vehicles during fog and fog weather it is an auxiliary safety device which gives the actual information about the location of the signal and gate 500 meters in advance to the loco pilot through screen and sound annunciation and two others ahead of it.
The device shows the distance of the signal’s location on the screen, so that the loco pilot can stop his car at the proper location of the signal.
With the help of this equipment accidents and signal passing can be prevented. For the timely and safe operation of trains, a total of 240 fog safe vehicles are being given in Nagpur division.
