Students of CDS School conduct cleanliness drive at slum area

The students of class IV ‘Cuckoo’ of The Chanda Devi Saraf School, Katol Road Branch, took upon themselves with the encouragement of their class in charge Sonali Chikhale to clean the slum area which is near the school. The students formed groups of 8 each equipped with brooms, dustbin, and dustpans. They also interacted with the locals of the slum & informed them about the ill effects of a dirty place and how it affects their health. Students willing and happily picked up wrappers, plastic waste and other rubbish thrown in front of their homes.

The drive was also taken out on the main road as well as the road leading to the school, there are a couple of shops selling chips and chocolates on the road leading to the school the students’ spoke with the shop keepers and requested them to place dustbins in front of their shops so that the rubbish is discarded in the bin avoiding littering on the road. Round the corner there is a Sweet & Samosa shop in front of which the maximum rappers, disposal cups, and other waste materials were also collected. It is extremely essential that the eateries & other shops must be penalised if any rappers/rubbish materials are found in front of their shops.
