Question papers to be opened inside examination hall: Maharashtra Board

In order to deal with the question paper leakage this year, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has decided to open the sealed paper packets in front of the students in the class during X and XII examinations. CCTV cameras will also be installed at the examination centres.

The HSC exam is scheduled from February 18 and SSC from March 3. The Board has taken some measures to restrict the paper leakage and to curb wrong practices of copying in the exam hall.

The Board has also decided to keep shuffling the supervisor as well as assistant supervisor besides the examiner from one centre to another. The pattern for the Class X exams is 80-20, the written test carries 80 marks and internal assessment will have 20 marks. This year the results are likely to increase due to the addition of internal marks.

A total of 1,68,508 students of Class XII and 1,87,797 of Class XII will appear for the examination. Out of the 87,497 students will be boys and 81,001 girls and 10 students of the transgender community.

Around 1,87,797 students of Class X will appear for the exam, which includes 99,736 boys and 87,049 girls and 12 from the transgender community.
