Traders demand sector wise reopening of shops after third phase of lockdown

As we know the nation is undergoing through a difficult phase due to the ongoing lockdown.Amid this serious condition, small retail traders have demanded that government should allow reopening of shops after May 17 when third phase of lockdown is going to end.Small traders and workers employed by them are jobless due to the lockdown.

General secretary of Chillar Kirana Merchants Association,Dyaneshwar Rakshak has said that lockdown is being executed in an unplanned manner because there is no co-ordination between officers of different departments and they are taking various decisions regarding this without planning. The government should prepare a roadmap before lockdown is lifted he said and added that through it is not possible to lift lockdown completely from all sectors, relaxation should be granted to certain sectors so that labour class does not suffer anymore.

Traders from various sectors like bullion traders, artisans working in jewellery, masons, potters are all without work.If immediate steps are not taken the economy will suffer irreversible loss.Under such conditions, the local administration should prepare a chart of regulations for every city and allow sector wise reopening of economy. The shops will be allowed to work from 10 am to 6 pm by maintaining all social distancing norms.
