After the ICMR guidelines,the institutional quarantine centre has been shut down at MLA hostel and COVID care centre has been set up in its place.As per information,22 patients were shifted to MLA hotstel from Government Medical College and Hospital(GMCH).On Monday,11 more patients were shifted from GMCH and 18 from Mayo.A total of 50 patients are being treated at MLA hostel.The ICMR has also set rules classify patients in terms of symptoms after investigation.
And as per the rules,patients with no symptoms have been instructed to be kept in COVID Care Centre.whereas those with mild or very mild symptoms are to be admitted in dedicated health care centres and patients with moderate and acute symptoms should be sent to dedicated Covid hospitals.Earlier,even those who did not require special treatment in HDU and ICU were treated here,due to which time of specialist doctors was necessarily wasted.Finally,the MLA hostel converted into COVID Care Centre.At present, a 100-bed centre is built in the ‘B’building.In this centre,apart from the health department,doctors and health workers of NMC are providing service.
