Considering rapid increase in the number of corona patients in Chikhaldara and Dharni tehsils the Municipal Council (MC) here has decided to ban tourist activities at Chikhaldara, Kolkhas, Tarubanda (Kandirbaba) and other places.
After a long 3 months gap the local administration had allowed tourism and jungle safari in Melghat forest also with the beginning of the unlock phase. Slowly, many tourists started visiting Melghat to enjoy the natural beauty of this paradise that blooms specially in monsoon to ease the lockdown effect. However, a Hyderabad returnee youth had tested positive at Dharni on July 3.
Similarly, patients have also been detected at Akot, Anjangaon Surji, Achalpur and other nearby places. Taking cognisance of that and to curb the spread of coronavirus, Suryakant Pidurkar, Chief Officer of Chikhaldara Municipal Council has shut the tourist places. Entry to the tourists at these tourist places will be provided only after taking necessary permission from administration.
