RTE: 68 percent admissions done in district

The sixty eight percent admissions under Right to Education Act (RTE) have been done in the district.Earlier, the education department had given permission to children selected in RTE draw to take admissions up to August 31.But 15 day extension has been given due to coronavirus pandemic. The remaining children have to take admissions up to September 15.The registration process for RTE was commenced from February month in state.

There are 6,874 seats in Nagpur and 31,044 parents done registration.6685 students were selected. After RTE draw was held, lockdown was declared in country on March 21.Since then no decision was taken about RTE process by government. The admissions of selected children were to be finalised from July 1.The August 31 was the last day for the admission.Upto August 31, admissions of 4543 students were finalised. And the education department has now appealed that parents should confirm admissions of their wards due to 15 day extension. A certificate verification committee has been formed to scrutinize documents of children admitted under RTE.
