98-year-old Nagpur man defeats Corona

Since the Pandemic, we have heard how the world is affected by deadly Coronavirus. Many young and well as elderly people were severely affected due to the disease while many lost their lives. But what kept our hopes high were the stories of elderly people around the globe on how they managed to defeat the virus even after having various health-related complications.

One such miracle happened in Nagpur when a 98-year-old man Prabhakar Shukla defeated the deadly disease and miraculously recovered from the illness.

Prabhakar Shukla a resident of Khamla was admitted in ICU at Sushrut Hospital, Orthopaedic Hospital, after being tested positive for Coronavirus after having fever, respiratory distress, and pneumonia.

On 23rd he was admitted at Nectar critical care Ramdaspeth , Sushrut hospital with falling SpO2 of 89, covid pneumonia on HRCT chest. Patient was semiconscious on admission told Dr. MAHESH SARDA the senior Intensivist and director Nectar critical care unit.

His low SpO2 , covid pneumonia, low cardiac output and high age were total negative factors for this deadly virus but team of dedicated doctors headed by Dr. Mahesh Sarda including Dr.Tapan, Dr. Santosh with excellent nursing team of sister Nisha, Bhumika, Sushma, headed by Miss. Ruma took the challenge and tirelessly put all the efforts to save this gentleman with positive reinforcement from family.

GOD also waved positive signs to all the efforts with patient started gaining consciousness on day 3rd.

He needed O2, nutritional and cardiac support during treatment and could de discharged from hospital in good mental state with parental nutrition in view of risk of aspiration due to age.

members thanked entire team of doctors Dr. Mahesh Sarda, Dr. Varsha Sarda, nursing staff, housekeeping and administrative department for their dedication , hard work, commitment, humbleness and cooperation.

Hospital staff waved him bye with showering floral petals. Dr. Sushrut Babhular congratulated the entire team. Dr. Sarda insisted that timely reporting and treatment can be mainstay to defeat this virus and requested all to meticulously follow safety norms of mask, handwashing social distancing to avoid it.

Together we can fight this pandemic!
