Bharat Bandh: Armed cops deployed in city to maintain law and order

In view of the Bharat Bandh called by the farmers organisations against farm bills, police personnel are deployed across the city.As per information, armed forces have been stationed at sensitive areas. Considering the population density, special attention is being paid to areas in North Nagpur and Amravati Road. The point to be noted here is that the transporters’ organisations in the city have also joined the farmer’s bodies in the strike.

The CP has ordered strict action against rioters and those trying to close shops or other institutions forcefully. The police personnel have also been authorized to arrest the protestors if they resort to violence. Striking forces have been given to Commissioner of Police, three additional commissioners and all deputy commissioners of police.

Simultaneously,Quick Response Team would also be kept ready.Four teams have been created comprising of APIs and PSIs from Economic Offences Wing(EOW),crime branch and cyber crime. These teams would be monitoring the control centres. Surveillance has been increased on the highway passing through the city. Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar discussed with the representatives of transport bodies who have supported the strike and appealed for peace.
