In an initiative to make roads and footpath encroachment free, the Nagpur Municipal Commissioner has been taking strict action against the encroachers in the city. As per information, 450 encroachments, 8 truck material were seized and Rs 73,400 fine was collected.
On February 3, anti-encroachment drive was conducted at Lakxmi Nagar zone-1, 26 encroachments were cleared in Sonegao, Mamta colony illegal huts were removed. In Dharampeth zone-2, 46 encroachment were cleared, 1truck material seized and Rs 13000 fine was collected.
Hanuman Nagar zone 3, 54 encroachment cleared, 1 truck material seized. Dhantoli zone -4, fine of Rs 25,000 was recovered from a hotel owner after he extended space despite clearing it two days back, similarly a fine of Rs 10,000 was collected from heritage hotel for the same reason. Total 56 encroachments were cleared and1 truck material was seized in Dhantoli zone.
Nehru Nagar zone-5, 46 encroachments were cleared, 8 hand carts were seized. During this drive a person was injured himself in an attempt to stop the anti encroachment squad.
Gandhibagh Bhavan zone-6, 36 encroachments were cleared, 3 carts seized and fine of Rs 10,000 were collected,
Satranjipura zone 7, 46 encroachment cleared, fine of Rs 1000 were recovered. Lakadganj zone-8, 44 encroachments were cleared, 19 sheds were demolished and fine of Rs 11.000 was collected.
Aashi Nagar zone-9, 44 encroachments were cleared, Mangalwari zone 10, 48 encroachment were cleared, 1 truck material was seized while Rs 3400 was collected.
Around 67 encroachments were cleared in Hanuman Nagar zone-3, 1 truck material and 7 sheds of vegetable vendors was demolished.
As per information, 56 encroachments, 1 truck material were seized and Rs 1,000 fine was collected. After this, taken action against the illegal slab of a building in Congress Nagar.
