Government issues guidelines regarding celebration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti

This year the government has issued guidelines on how to celebrate the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on February 19. On the occasion of Shiva Jayanti, no Prabhatpheri, bike rallies, processions are allowed this year, but on the occasion of Shiva Jayanti, the government has given permission to conduct health camps and activities in compliance with the rules.

The Government has issued guidelines on February 11 regarding Shiva Jayanti. Every year on the occasion of Shiv Jayanti, various programs are organized in Maharashtra. However, the circular said that this year, in no way should there be performances of Powade, lectures, songs, plays, etc or other cultural events in public places. Instead, it suggests making arrangements to make the program available on a cable network or online.

According to the circular, morning ferries, bike rallies, processions should not be taken out in any way. Instead, a wreath-laying ceremony should be organized for the statue or image of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. For this, the presence of 10 persons will be allowed following the social distance.

Permission for health related activities

Priority should be given to organizing health related activities / camps on the day of Shiva Jayanti, the circular said. The circular also said that awareness should be spread about diseases like corona, malaria, dengue etc and their preventive measures as well as hygiene. The circular also said that while organizing health related activities, special attention should be paid to social distance as well as the observance of hygiene rules (masks, sanitizers, etc).
