Remdesivir injection required for corona patients is available as per the requirement in the entire Department including Nagpur as the main sales and storage centers of various companies are at Nagpur. Therefore, there is an immediate delivery system in the Department as per the requirement of Remdesivir injection, informed the Assistant Commissioner of Food and Drug Administration, Dr P M Ballad on Tuesday.
In the Nagpur division mainly Mylon, Cipla, Hetero, Dr Reddy’s invertebrate injection stock is available for sale. From the depots of these companies, distribution and sales are arranged in Nagpur district and other adjoining districts as well as in Marathwada and neighbouring States. Necessary planning has been made by the Food and Drug Administration for the availability of remdesivir injections during covid infection. The company is required to upload information regarding the availability of remdesivir and other drugs. For this, Drug Inspector Swati Bharde has been appointed as the Nodal Officer.
Abundant stocks of Remdesivir Injection are available and these injections are available everywhere in Vidarbha. The shipping company has an estimated 7,500 vials available and will supply 15,000 vials this week. So far 1,82,000 lakh vials have been distributed by the company in Vidarbha and other regions. Of these, about 50,000 vials have been sold in Nagpur city. Hetero’s 4,800 vials are newly available today, with 8,500 available for sale. To date, the company has sold 75,000 vials in Nagpur district.
Mylon Company’s godown has a stock of 97,500 vials for Vidarbha, Marathwada and Chhattisgarh. “Remdesvir is distributed to District General Hospitals and Government Hospitals through Government agencies and injections are supplied to private covid hospitals through distribution systems of various companies. Adequate stocks of Remdesivir Injection are available in Nagpur city and district,†P M Ballal said.
