All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has given recog nition to start Mechatronics and AI & ML courses to Government Polytechnic Nagpur (GPN). These courses will start from the new academic session. With this, GPN has become the first polytech nic college in the state to get accreditation for both these courses.
According to informa tion received by Lokmat Times, the decision was taken in the meeting held with AICTE Wednesday.
On taking into consideration from the industries, AICTE has updated the technical education cours es. Along with this, changes have been made in degree and diploma courses.
Principal of GPN and co director in-charge of the Departmental Technical Education Directorate, Dr Manoj Diaghwane con firmed the news and informed that along with these two courses, updat ed courses of Travel and Tourism, Textile, Packaging and Mining Engineering will be imple mented in the institution.
Dr Diaghwane told that companies coming for campus placement in the institution demand multi skill manpower. Along with these courses, trained human resources are sought in the travel and tourism and textile sectors.
Mechatronics is combina tion of mechanical and electronics courses while AI & ML stands for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. At present, new technology is being adopted in indus tries.
