Just a few hours of heavy rain has exposed the work of civic authorities. After receiving heavy rainfall today Nagpur was submerged in rainwater. water entered many houses and low-level areas had to face waterlogging problems. The heavy rain indeed brought down temperature thus providing relief from the scorching heat and humid weather.
However, created a series of problems for citizens. RMC earlier issued an Orange Alert for the city and predicted that thunderstorms with lightning, and Light to moderate rainfall very likely to continue at most places over Nagpur and Wardha, at many places over Bhandara, Chandrapur, and Yavatmal, at few places over Amravati and Gondia and at isolated places over Gadchiroli, Akola, and Washim.
In just a few hours Nagpur records 99.4 mm rainfall at Nagpur Airport As per the data issued by RMC Nagpur received 11.1mm of rainfall till Thursday morning. The continuous rainfall created problems for locals and commuters exposing the work done by civic authorities.
Due to the clogged nullas and waterlogging water entered many homes in the City. RMC has also issued a ‘yellow’ alert for heavy downpour coupled with lightning on Friday.
