Ashwin Mehadia , President of NVCC said importers can only claim for refund of shipping  bills  after re-transmission by DGFT. At present DGFT is taking much time and importers cannot claim refund of their shipping bills under GST.
Swapnil Ahirkar, Joint Secretary added that due to delay in refund of shipping bills, there is adverse effect in Governments GST collection and importers of the region of Vidarbha.
CA Ritesh Mehta, Convenor of Indirect Tax Committee of NVCC requested GST Department to discuss the issue with the DGFT Department and clear the pending cases, and arrange for refund of shipping bills.
