Click2Cloud’s successful Codefest event, first of kind held in Nagpur. All speakers served as TSC, OC, and other board chairs on many open-source foundations.
Click2Cloud hosted 2 nd international meetup “CodeFest 2021†in India on August 14 with an aim to turn Nagpur into a cloud city. The event welcomed a record-breaking number of 1,398 registrants and 712+ attendees at peak!
The mega cloud technology event called the ‘Codefest2021’ was supported by “Centaurus†an OpenSource community under Linux Foundation. Also, global tech giants like the Research for Resurgence Foundation, Futurewei Technologies, Huawei Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, Grid Gain, reinvent labs, Informatics, and Soda Foundation.
The event was hosted by Rupal Shirpurkar; business head, Click2Cloud and Nikhil Aparajit, community lead. Every year the conference attracts delegates. Technical experts, contributors, and supporters from various organizations joined the sessions.
Rupal Shirpurkar said India has great potential. Today, the Covid-19 pandemic has made it imperative for accelerating digital delivery of public services. This has put immense pressure on government departments to quickly roll out new platforms or initiatives. With support for emerging technologies such as AI, ML, Edge, the cloud is the perfect platform for testing out new innovations.
Our Vision is to develop an open-source community in India that can provide Next-Gen cloud platform for 5G, Edge, and AI. As Click2Cloud is actively involved in many open-source communities and contributing on innovative open-source projects
The event begins with an keynote was addressed by Prashant Mishra (Founder and CEO of Click2Cloud Inc) & Dr Ying Xiong (VP and Head of Cloud Lab at Futurewei Technologies). It features keynotes, tech talks, workshops, and discussions.
Prashant Mishra (Founder and CEO of Click2Cloud Inc) shared his insights regarding how the new 5G technology can impact our lives. What Does the Future of IT Technology in India Look Like? He shared his vision of making “Nagpur as cloud city†and called for companies to come forward and join hands for the betterment of the tech community in India.
Dr Ying Xiong (Technical VP and Head of Cloud Lab at Futurewei Technologies), shared an enlightening session on ‘Shaping the Future of Cloud Native Infrastructure at the Age of AI, 5G, and Edge. Also, he introduced centaurus vision & roadmap.
The event took place with a panel discission hosted by Anni Lai, who is current board director (primary & alternate) at CNCF, OCI, LF Edge. Where, Principal Cloud Technology Strategists at Futurewei Deepak Vij and Dr Xiaoning Ding enlightened the viewers with a brief presentation on project Centaurus and various models like Arktos and Mizaar.
Key members from our supporting organization presented the technology roadmap, provided their views, use cases and the value Next-Gen cloud platform for 5G, Edge, and AI.
The open-source solutions are rapidly evolving and playing an important role to meet the demands of the industry. We saw huge turnout from tech-enthusiasts, industry experts and students who were keen to know the how-to patriciate in opensource ecosystem. At the end, Anni & Rupal shared, the insights on how to be part of open-source ecosystem. They articulated the challenges and opportunities in open-source contribution for a newcomer.
The team invited the audience to join in the effort to further developer collaboration and community support for new research and development projects in next gen-cloud for 5G, Edge & AI.
