248 artificial tanks for ganesh idols to be places in city

More than two lakh domestic idols of Lord Ganesh have been installed in Nagpur this year while more than 2000 idols of Lord Ganesh have been installed at public mandals. In view of this 248 artificial tanks are being installed in the city. For one and half days immersion of Lord Ganesh idols, 13 tanks have been installed.

Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has imposed ban on immersion of idols in city lakes. The process to install artificial tanks at zone level has started so that process of immersion can be completed at Prabhag level.

Solid waste management department has been instructed to make immediate arrangement if the demand for tank arises at any place.

Nodal officer of solid waste management depart ment Dr Gajendra Mahalle said told the people to immerse idols in artificial tanks. Immersion has been banned completely in the lakes, Tin barricades have installed around the lake. If any person does the immersion forcibly, then stern action will be taken against him, he said.

For the one and half days immersion, one artificial tank has been installed at Sonegaon lake, 2 at Futala lake, 3 at VNIT ground Laxmi Nagar Shukrawari lake, 1 at Sakkardara lake, 1 at Sardar Patel ground, 1 at Police Lines ground and 1 at NIT ground, Garba ground.

Bins for Nirmalya collection Separate bins have been arranged for Nirmalya col lection near the artificial tank. Artificial ponds are being made near the lakes, at important squares, public ground and at other places. It is expected that 325 tonnes of Nirmalya will be collected this year.
