Nagpur police is vigilant against Hookah parlors and those who supply illegal liquor. Based on a tip special squad of Deputy Commissioner Vinita Sahu raided ‘Roof 9’ and ‘The Godfather café Nagpur for defying Covid-19 norms and serving hookah to their customers.

Police found that the Godfather Cafe was illegally supplying hookahs to their customers in violation of the rules of Covid-19. Police took action against 10 people including customers. Sitabardi Police has charged the café with 428/2021 Section 188, 269, 270 Disaster Management Act 2005 Section 51 (B) 3, 4A, 21A and confiscated items worth Rs 5700.

While Police found that Roof 9 was serving food to the customers and defying Covid-19 norms. The restaurant was active beyond the time fixed by the government. The staff was found violating Covid-19 norms while serving meals without wearing a mask. A case has been registered under Section 51 (b) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 under 424/21 Section 188, 269, 270, Section 33 R/W, 13.
