RTMNU’s Students’ Parliament a great success

Scholar in academic field and father of Super-Thirty Anand Kumar was present during the finals of Students’Parliament organized by Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, here on Saturday.

The programme was a great success with the university bringing out future parliamentarian from among the students. The Vice-Chancellor Dr Subhash Chaudhari was in the chair. City Mayor and renowned orator Dayashankar Tiwari, MP from Bhandara Sunil Mendhe, Pro-VC Dr Sanjay Dudhe, Management Council member Vishnu Changde, Senate Member Tarzan Gaikwad and Director of Students Welfare Abhay Mudal were present on the dais.

The winners of the competition are – Best Independent Parliamentarian – Khusboo Si8ngh of LAD College; Best Opposition Party Member – NarayanSingh of Ramdeobaba College of Engineering; Best Ruling Party member – Aura Gabriel of Tiropude College of Social Work; Best Speech Runners Up- Suruchi Mor, PGTD Zoology, RTMNU; Best Speech – Sara Sheikh, S B Jain Institute of Technology; Best Debator Runners Up – Prajakta Hazare, KZS Science College, Kalmershwar; Best Debator – Vishal Kharchwal, Shivaji Science College; Best Parliamentarian –Male – Tanmay Salodkar, Ramdeobaba College and Female – Ketaki Raut, LAD College, Nagpur.-

Mendhe said that the University has produced great leaders including Nitin Gadkari, Dr Shrikant Jichkar, through students’ movement. This is an effort to develop good leadership from among the students.

The students should realize that the person on the lowest rung of the social ladder is also important. The income in his constituency is Rs 3500 per annum and at the same time there are millioneirs, he said. The leader has to work for all as his responsibility.    

Anand Kumar was felicitated on the occasion at the hands of Dr Chaudhari.

Tiwari said that the nation has experienced leaders like Lal Bahadur Shastri and lalu Prasad, who had diverse characters. The students should follow the examples of persons like Anand Kumar and not Kanhaiya Kumar. He also quoted example of Nitin Gadkari, who was a student leader and now is an example to follow. The leader can achieve better future by establishing proper communication with the people, understanding their issue, analyzing them and taking proper steps for the betterment of overall society.

Anand Kumar said that his father was a great inspiratory for him. He always spoke about welfare of the entire society. He also advised that good persons should not remain aloof from politics. Unless good persons enter politics, it cannot be cleansed. He also narrated his experience in life and struggle he had to make to reach this position.

Vishnu Changde made introductory remarks. Dr Mudgal proposed a vote of thanks. Amruta Indurkar and Sudha Jangid conducted the proceedings.
