Off-line classes, exams allowed in remote areas of Gadchiroli, Jalgaon, Nanded

The Department of Higher and Technical Education has issued a formal notification relating to closure of colleges till February 15. The classes and examinations are required to be conducted on-line.

The Department, however, has allowed off-line classes and examinations in some parts of Gondwana University, Gadchiroli; Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon and Ramanandteertha University, Nanded. These universities have jurisdiction over remote and tribal areas, where internet connectivity is difficult. Same rules also apply for ITIs and othe technical institutions. The Central institutions like IIT, IIIT, IIM etc can take decision on their own, depending on the situation in their area.

HOSTELS: The colleges, universities and other institutes should issue notice to vacate hostels with sufficient time to the students. Foreign students and researchers may be allowed to stay in the hostel, by following all Corona related preventive rules.

The notification also states that technical institutes may motivate students between 15 and 18 years for taking vaccines or conduct special camps to immunize them. The list of such students should be submitted to the concerned authorities by the institutes.

The University authorities should formulate a definite structure of question papers for on-line examinations and also for off-line exams, where it is allowed.

The teaching and non-teaching staff should be either allowed to work from home or allowed attendance with 50 percent capacity alternately.

In case of any difficulty, rules can also be seen on official website www.maharashtra.gov.in.
