The theme behind Rajendra Pradhan’s sculpture ‘Pieces of Puzzle’ has become a major attraction in ‘The Fabulous 9’ exhibition of selected nine sculptors from across the nation. Rajendra Pradhan is from Nagpur.
While explaining the theme behind the sculpture Pradhan said “The puzzles of everyone’s life will be solved, if a partner of choice is receivedâ€. The explanation may appear very simple, but has a deep rooted meaning.
Pradhan, a Civil Engineer from VRCE, is a builder by profession. Making sculpture, photography, painting are his hobbies. His sculptures have received appreciation from across the world. As a part of hobby started just by making a bust of his father late Laxmanrao Pradhan, a social worker and a retired employee of Indian railways. Women’s life has fascinated him and he has been making sculptures on the themes including Save Girl Child, various dimensions and feelings of motherhood etc.
Overwhelmed by the appreciation of Padmashri Dr Prakash Kothari, renowned sexologist, Pradhan was highly acclaimed by him. Dr Kothari gifted him his famous book ‘Erotica’ and also assured including photograph of the sculpture in the next edition of his book. He also assured that he will get Foreword by Gulzar on the sculpture and the theme. Pradhan wanted to gift him his costly sculpture, but he did not accept it.
Pradhan has participated in several exhibitions of his sculptures and paintings at national and international levels.
