NTA introduce negative marking in Section B of JEE Main 2022 exam

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Main 2022 exam pattern along with the official notification on its official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The JEE Main 2022 exam will be conducted for two papers such as Paper 1 (B.E/B.Tech) and Paper 2 (B.Arch or B.Plan) in the month of April and May.

As per the exam pattern of JEE Main 2022, both the papers will be held in online computer-based mode except for the Drawing test for B.Arch.

There have been several changes this year as the candidates will be awarded four marks for every correct answer while there will be a negative marking of one fourth mark for every wrong answer. Earlier NTA had mention that there will be no negative marking but soon released a revised notice that reads “n page number 16 of the Information Bulletin of JEE (Main) – 2022, in 3.4 (Pattern of the Examination), in part (b) that there will be negative marking in section B also.

According to the latest change the National Testing Agency has introduced marking in JEE Main 2022 section B. Earlier, there was no negative marking for numerical answer type questions.

The JEE Main 2022 will be conducted as a computer-based test with a duration of three hours. The test will constitute a total of 90 questions of which 75 will be compulsory.

The paper will be conducted in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu mediums.
