Bharitiya Janata Party workers are staging demonstrations at Variety Square protesting summond and interrogation of Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis by Mumabi Cyber Cell.
The MVA Government lodged complaint against Fadnavis in leakage of official secrets. He (Fadnavis) had exposed corruption in transfer of police officers in March last year. Former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh is in jail in that connection.
Police officials had summoned Fadnavis on Sunday. However the officers decided to carry out interrogation at his official residence.
Fadnavis had also alleged this as vindictive action and instead of taking action against the guilty, enquiry against one who exposed the scandal is being initiated.
Similar demonstrations are being held by BJP workers across the state.
