Chetak Khedikar named Indian Junior badminton team coach for the France tour.

City’s experienced renowned Badminton World Federation certified coach Chetak Khedikar has been appointed by school game Federation of India as a badminton team coach for upcoming 19th International School Federation World School gymnasiade 2022 to be held at Normandy, France from 14th May to 22nd May 2022. in which 70 countries and around 3500 participants are expected to participate in 20 sports disciplines.

The 40 year years old has been instrumental in shaping many upcoming players of the region Rohan Gurbani played in 2019 world junior Championships, Nikkita Joseph SGFI gold medalist and Badminton Association of India Best rank 4th in under 17 girls ex-National level players  Sameet Dandwate, Aditi Pandit CBSE first National individual champion, Mrunmayi Saoji, Sudhanshu Bhure,  Pranali Sapkal etc….

Chetak Khedikar is a qualified Badminton World Federation (BWF) level 1 certified coach and has attended the prestigious BWF coaches conference in Dubai during Dubai World Series finals in December 2016. Khedikar also cleared the coaches education program CEP examination of Sports Authority of India in badminton and sports science. He also attended various coaches’ clinics and workshops under the guidance of international coaches Pullela Gopichand, Augus Dwi Santoso, Namrih Suroto, and Aaronlee Malaysia.

As a player Khedikar was a bronze medalist team member of Nagpur University in West zone and qualified for all India Inter-University tournaments in 2006-07. Represented as a player in 8th Maharashtra state Inter-University sports meet Ashwamedha 2004. As a coach of Maharashtra state in 49th National School games 2003, Asst. state Junior and senior team for West zone inter state Badminton Championship at Vadodara and in senior National Badminton Championship Nagpur.

The former player runs his Badminton Academy at Annasaheb Gundewar college and shuttlers craze Sports Academy,(SCSA) Mankapur

“It is a very good opportunity for me to be the coach of the Indian side during the 19th International School Federation World School Championship. I am very happy and excited about this new assignment it will be a new experience for me and would like to make the most of it, ” said khedikar
