Nagpur Municipal Corporation has distributed two lakh national flags to the students from various schools in the city so far as per the directives by the Central and State Governments under ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign to mark Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsava. This includes 15,000 students from 130 corporation schools.
On behalf of the administration 23 Central school teams distributed the flags. A target of displaying six lakh tricolours at the homes has been set. Four lakh students from corporation and private schools will participate in the campaign from August 13 to 15.

The corporation will decorate and illuminate 75 important squares in the city. Radhakrishnan B, Municipal Commissioner, has appealed to voluntary organisations and citizens to participate in the campaign. The flags are being distributed to corporation school students free of cost and at Rs 15/- per flag to private schools.
Meanwhile, Radhakrishnan and Chinmay Gotmare, CEO, Nagpur Smart & Sustainable City Development Ltd, released a balloon in the sky on Monday in the background of the campaign.
