RTMNU Senate Graduates’ constituency polls deferred to Dec 11

Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University had rescheduled Senate elections for Graduates’ constituency, following a large number of complaints lodged against the procedure. The polling scheduled for November 30, has been deferred to December 11. The counting of votes will be held on December 13.

The University issued the notification late in the evening on November 20. Polling for Senate in Principals, Management Representatives and Teachers constituency were held on Sunday. Elections for the Academic Council and Board of Studies were also held on Sunday.

Former Senate member Adv Manmohan Bajpai had lodged a complaint with the Chancellor and the Chief Minister, alleging mistakes in following the procedure.

The University has stated that the polling is being deferred on demand of the voters, as November 30 is a working day. Several voters will not be able to cast their votes.
