Nagpur District Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship which is being organised by Chess Association Nagpur in association with G.H.Raisoni Sports and Cultural Foundation and Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation at Vivekanand Hall, Shraddha House, Kingsway, Near Kasturchand Park, Nagpur was inaugurated by Prominent Legal Advisor Adv. Sandeep Shastri. CA Abhijit Kelkar, Past Chairman of ICAI Nagpur and WIRC Regional Council Member was the Guest of Honour. Shri Bhushan Shriwas, Secretary, Chess Association Nagpur & Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation and Shri S.S.Soman, Working President, CAN were present on the occasion.
The tournament is being conducted for selection of Top 2 Players each from Nagpur District for participation in Maharashtra State Rapid and Blitz Championship. The Rapid Championship has attracted 105 entries and there are 80 participants registered in Blitz Group.
Rapid Event has already started and Blitz event will start tomorrow at 2.00 pm followed by Prize Distribution Ceremony.
Trophies shall be distributed to Top two finishers in each group whereas Medals shall be awarded to participants finishing from 3rd to 10th in the final list. Medals shall also be awarded to Top Two finishers in different age groups.
Chief Arbiter for the Championship is Shri Amrish Joshi who is being assisted by SNA Swati Kumbhalkar, SNA Amit Tembhurne, Shyam Agrawal, Prayas Amabde and Prathamesh Machave.
