Indian Concrete Institute Nagpur Centre organized Two Days International Conference on Asian Scenario on Infrastructural Development: ASID2023 was inaugurated on 10th March 2023 at Radisson Blu by Nitinji Gadkari, Minster for Road Transport and Highway, Government of India.
While Speaking on the occasion, Hon. Shri. Nitinji said that the conference is being organized on right theme as the world needs innovations and The theme of Infrastructural Development is best suited to the present situation as this will bring the interest of learning and application among the construction industry.
He said conversion of waste to wealth is a need of time and his ministry is focusing on maximum use of innovative material like fly ash, fibers, GGBS for making economical and durable concrete. He emphasized the use of bamboo fiber to reduce the cost of construction. He advised equipment manufacturing industry to manufacture construction equipment which can run on alternative fuel like Green Hydrogen. He briefed various initiatives taken by his ministry for Mass Rapid Transport, Sewerage water usage at Thermal Power Plant for sustainable development.
This conference can pave path for participation of the engineers from private and public sectors across the borders of the nation and appraise them with new trends in the industry and encourage them for choosing the new technology for future construction.
Dr Sanjay Belasre, MD, MERI, GoM , Er. Parth Gangopadhaya, President ICI, Er V Ramchandra, President (Elect), ICI graced the occasion as Guest of Honor.
Er. Manoj Kawalkar – Principal Convener, Er P. S. Patankar- Convener and Vice President (W) – ICI, Dr H. D. Chandewar- Chairman of ICI-NC and Dr Swapneel Satone- Organising Secretary of ASID2023 were present on Dias.
During the inaugural function Dr. H. D. Chandewar, Chairman, ICI-NC welcomed the audience and briefed about ICI-Nagpur centre functioning.

Er. V. Ramchandra, President (Elect) ICI spoke about India is fastest growing economy and Infrastructure development is at faster rate.
Er Partha Gangopadhya, President ICI applauded the effort taken by ICI for betterment of Concrete by organizing various Conference, workshops, STTP, Field visits and through research paper publication. He promised Hon Minister about ICI association and commitment for infrastructure policy and application document drafting at national level.
Dr Sanjay Belsare briefed about challenges in water sector industry. He emphasized the importance of CSR participation in water sector.
A proceeding of the conference was unveiled by the chief guest Hon. Shri Nitinji Gadkari and Guest of Honor Dr Sanjay Belasare and other dignitaries. More than 700 Professional had registered and attended the Conference on Day 1.

Audio Visual Presentation on Samruddhi Highway and Key-note addresses by Ar Christopher Benninger, Dr Sanjay Belsare, Ana Bras, Mike Spotte, Manu Santhanam on various aspects of Civil engineering were highly enriching and useful to the participants on Day 1 of the Conference.
