The demolition work for the Ganesh Tekdi flyover opposite Nagpur railway station will begin within a week, making way for a six-lane road. The move comes after settling cases filed by shopkeepers located under the flyover.
The demolition aims to alleviate traffic congestion around the station and address problems caused by the narrowed road and increased passenger visits due to the city’s expansion. The area beneath the flyover, known for criminal activities and uncleanliness, will be cleared, providing relief to citizens. Furthermore, a parking facility and a shopping complex with 200 shops will be built at the railway station to cater to the growing needs of visitors. The demolition and subsequent development projects signify a positive step towards improving infrastructure and enhancing convenience for Nagpur’s residents and commuters.
